OUR STORY

In 2019, A Bright Beginning Child Care Society relocated from Prairie Plaza to the west side of Avondale School. This move was made possible through the Alberta Government’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) pilot project and the Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) funding, which facilitated renovations that increased our capacity by 22 spaces and established a School Age Program.

HWD Construction of Grande Prairie expertly completed the renovations, which included the addition of a state-of-the-art kitchen designed to provide nutritious meals and snacks for the children. We are proud to have established a partnership with the Grande Prairie Public School Division, which supports our mission.

This relocation was essential for the Centre’s sustainability, enabling us to continue offering affordable spaces following the conclusion of the pilot project. The new Affordability Grant, coupled with low lease fees, ensures the Centre remains viable.

We extend our gratitude to the Alberta Government ELCC pilot project, CFEP funding, HWD Construction, and the Grande Prairie Public School Division for their invaluable support. As of September 2023, the Society has further expanded by opening two new School Age programs: A Bright Beginning Roy Bickell and A Bright Beginning Ecole Montrose.
